Challenge: Protecting the NFC Code Touch from theft and vandalism
Broken windows, destroyed mailboxes, painted garage doors and much more are the classic consequences of vandalism.
Unfortunately, external Loxone hardware can also be affected by this mostly arbitrary destruction frenzy. While Weather station, Alarm siren and Co. are mostly out of the reach of vandals, the NFC code touch a potential target. Especially because of its elegant design and because it is particularly noticeable in the dark thanks to its lighting.
In this application example, we will show you how you can minimize the risk of destroying an externally installed NFC code touch.
Solution: presence-dependent lighting of the NFC Code Touch
In order to be able to use the NFC Code Touch unrestrictedly at night, digits and symbols have a practical background lighting that is automatically activated after dark. In combination with its elegant design, this practical lighting can make the NFC Code Touch the target of “curious” passers-by.
To prevent this, the background lighting can only be activated if a visitor approaches the entrance door and is detected there by a motion detector. Pedestrians passing the building some distance away will not even notice the NFC Code Touch.
