How does the integration of ekey and Loxone work?
Integrating an ekey fingerprint scanner into your Loxone Smart Home system is easy and requires no additional hardware. Thanks to the seamless connection between both systems, you can integrate the ekey fingerprint scanner into your Loxone system in just a few steps. You can then configure individual settings and customize the ekey fingerprint scanner's functions to your liking via the Loxone app or your smart home's user interface.
The ekey fingerprint reader is integrated into the Loxone system via HTTP(S) requests. Configuration is completed in just a few steps using the ekey bionyx app:
1. Prepare
First, you need to install the ekey bionyx app on your smartphone or tablet. In the app, you can configure the ekey fingerprint reader and set up integration with smart home systems like Loxone. Make sure your Loxone system is also running.
2. Retrieve Loxone device data
Obtain the ID of the data point (input) you want to control from the Loxone system. This is necessary to set up the desired HTTP(S) requests in the next step.
3. Configuration of HTTP(s) requests
In the ekey bionyx app, you can set up up to five HTTP(S) requests. An HTTP(S) request is a request to a web address that triggers a specific action. For example, you can configure a request that is sent to your Loxone Smart Home when a specific fingerprint is recognized.
4. Test and adjustment
Once you have set up the integration, it is advisable to test it to make sure everything is working as expected.
5. Determination of actions
You can register your fingerprints and specify which actions should be performed in your Loxone Smart Home when a specific HTTP(S) request is triggered. This could include turning on lights, adjusting the room temperature, or activating the alarm system.
